The Prince of Egypt

DreamWorks’ Exodus — still the high-water mark for animated Scripture.

Moses and Ramses grow up as brothers in Pharaoh’s house before a river, a burning bush, and a hard liberty split them. Hans Zimmer and Stephen Schwartz give the plagues and the parting of the sea a liturgical weight most “kids’ movies” never attempt. The PG is earned (the death of the firstborn is treated seriously) but PureRated recommends it from about age eight with a parent nearby.

Gorgeous, grave, and musical. The rare studio Bible film that feels like worship and cinema at once.
